… therefore we want to go to Africa (1992)|
Author: Wolfgang Schoen
In 1941 Rommel’s Africa Corps arrives at Tripoli, to support the imperial dreams of Mussolini. After the defeat during the decisive battle of El Alamein in 1942 and battles of retreat until Tunisia, almost all Germans become prisoners of war. The author accompanies veterans of Rommel’s Africa Corps and Patton’s and Montgomery’s units in critical conflict on a journey to the theatres of war back then. The trails of their war is also a search for a lost youth.
